at 10:05 am a baby boy, known here as Super Jock, was born into the Cannon Family. We knew from the moment we saw his eyes that they were going to be BROWN, just like Daddy's and he was just a delight and joy. As a baby, he was such a happy and content boy. Once he was mobile, there was a world to explore and conquer...
Happy Birthday to my little brown eyed boy...I love you!

Great Idea
I got a great idea for a dollhouse from The Homemade Dollhouse...if I were techy and computer savvy, I could write HERE and you could click it and go to the site, but you will have to do it the old fashioned way...scroll down and click on the link from my blog list...so, anyway...her story is there and inspired me to do it for my daughter...I was going to save it for her birthday, but I think we will do it for Christmas now. I told a friend about it and she has been on the lookout when she goes to garage sales...she has found us some treasures...she gave me a bag and a box last night...the bag had all sorts of little boxes in it and I think we will use it to make furniture, etc...then she gave me a box full of little treaures. I did not get a chance to look carefully at these yet, because the Principessa does not know about all of that yet.
But, we were talking on the way home last night and got a great idea to make dollhouse rooms out of shoeboxes and then we could attach them to those trifold presentation boards and create a home...Principessa was chattering the whole way home about all of the things she could do. So, I think she wants to start with a baby's room and I will see if I have time to get a few shoeboxes and maybe she can start today. I am very excited to see what she will create and I am very excited to see that she is so excited.
Lynn also has another great blog over at A Mother's Journal...and I encourage you all to check them out...BUT, you will have to scroll down and click on the link...because HERE doesn't work!!! :-)

Two Tales of Cherries
Well, I have been canning cherries and I have Two Tales to tell...
First, After 20 Years, you would think you would know a person...but sadly, I find that that is not true...Dana and I have known each other for almost 20 years...we have been married for almost 18...and yet, I am still discovering new things. I have had a few friends who are canning cherries. The more I talked to them, the more I thought about canning cherries. But I have never had them and was not sure. So, I was talking to my MIL and my husband and come to find out that my husband LOVES them...NOT ONE MEMBER of the Cannon Family has EVER mentioned canned cherries in the 20 years that I have known them...I guess they all forgot about them. SO I am glad that I can bless my husband in this manner AND introduce my family to them as well.
Second, God of the great and God of Cherries
So, a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine was talking about this fruit list she has and was telling me that she had 2.5 cases of cherries left, would I be interested...but she would need to see if anyone ordered through email, before she could confirm that I could have any. So, the price was $16 for 26 pounds...AND they were Van Dyke Cherries, which I was thinking was the type we got on vacation a couple of years ago that were delicious, so I was hoping that I could get some more.
When I got home, I found out that they were gone...so I was looking for another source. Then my friend emailed and said she could get me one after all...Then I found another source...the price was not as good...but I ordered two. By the end of that week, I found out that had fallen through. So I talked with my friend and said...if there happened to be any more...I would love more...but I thought that was a HUGE long shot. Then I found out that Fred Meyer had them for 99 cents a pound and I went to get some...they were out of course...so all of this long boring story is to say that I got two more boxes of cherries from my friend at the cheapest price around. God guided me to this by having the others be unavailable and I so appreciate his watch care over our family. He is God of all...even the cherries...so as we eat our cherries, I have a memorial stone of His provision and will be able to praise Him for them.
I will post some pictures when I can find the cord...I think one of my children may have borrowed it....

Easy Bake Days
I am not sure what it is about Easy Bake Ovens that draws little girls to them like a moth to a flame, but yesterday, I had the opportunity to get it out for The Principessa while the boys washed the car and D.D. did this:
The Principessa made a chocolate chip cookie and some pinwheel cookies...she ate the chocolate chip cookie and offered the pinwheels to her brothers...the only taker she had was D.D....can you blame them?
I think I want to get her this:http://www.lovetolearn.net/catalog/product/1073801
They had a set at one time that I had ordered for her, but they were out of stock...I think all of their mini cookware can really be cooked in and baked with...I will need to double check that though...
Maybe today we will make REAL Cookies!

Great Gift Idea for the Man in your life
Whether this be for your Father, Husband or a son, this is a creative way to give either some money or a gift card. I will post the tutorial first and then a link for another version of it...I like the way she interpreted it, because she added a picture.
http://tailoredpages.blogspot.com/2009/06/happy-fathers-day.html
It may be too late for Father's Day, but it is jsut in time for birthdays for my son and Husband....so I am very happy with this little idea...I may even alter it enough to hold the daily activity cards for my son's 13th birthday...but that is another topic for another day!
Enjoy~!

John Denver
Music is a powerful thing...when I was little, my parents listened to John Denver and Roger Whittaker, amoung other things, I am sure...today, I went over to James McDonald's blog and a tribute to his wife brought that all back so clear and took me back to being 5,6,7,8...and listening to these songs...amazing how it could all come back as if I have been listening all along...this is not exactly the holiest of songs I have listened to, but it brought a smile to my face this morning and took me back a few more years than I would like to admit have gone by...
I hope you enjoy this!

Swagbucks, even better
Thanks to Melissa's Bargain Blog, I now have the scoop on an even better deal with Swagbucks...as you all know, I have been very excited about swagbucks...thinking I would add up my points for Target Gift Cards (I found out, btw, that these are for online use only)...well, now they have an option for a $5 paypal deposit...cash on your paypal account...so I just used all of my points to deposit $10 to my account...then I can either leave it there or transfer to my checking account...not sure yet what I will do, but it is a great prize. So for the special introduction of this prize, it costs 80 swagbucks...the regular price is 190 swagbucks. Just thought I would share this little tidbit...I will let you know when it shows up in my account.

Time Flies...
Today is July 1st...the first day of a new month...I cannot believe how FAST time flies...in the day to day workings, it doesn't seem to move so quickly...but when you look back...that's when you catch it
This month will mark the 13th anniversary of Super Jock's Life....so, in other words...he will be 13...where did all of that time go? How can he be 13 already. I remember him as such a happy and content and sweet baby, and now, he is practically a man.
So, I am looking for ideas for this man-child for his birthday...specifically for gifts. The item that I had been planning on getting him for MONTHS we have had issues with, so I don't think I will get him that...
Pamela gave us the idea of getting our children a tool box...I think that will be our gift when they turn 16...so, what do you get a 13 year old?
Well, I need to get going...my olders are working today and so the youngers and I will be going to the lake...
Happy July!
