3 Gifts from Today's Conversations
What a PERFECT day to have this post...we had a trip to the zoo...and HOPEFULLY, I will be posting some pictures about that...but here are the 3 gifts for today...
1} Talking with my children about God's design in His creation and getting to see it up close!
2} The opportunity to chat with friends over lunch...we talked about nothing, everything...Friends are such a blessing!
3} The third gift was a HUGE gift...the conversation was just asking my daughter to clean up the car...the Gift part was in her sacrificial gift to her Momma that was just not feeling good...Thank you precious Principessa...Your gift was more precious that you could ever know!

Summer Reading Fun
Well, this is the FIFTH time we have had a beginning reader...and it is very bittersweet as this will most likely will be the LAST beginning reader...It is a VERY exciting time for our DD as these shaped things called letters begin to take on a WHOLE NEW LIFE as words...and words in sentences, paragraphs and books.
To especially encourage my NEW reader, but also to have fun with one who THINKS she hates reading...we made Reading Rockets to track the books we read over the summer. When these get filled up, a trip to our FAVORITE used book store is in order.
So here are some Pictures...You really don't NEED them, but one day, I will want to remember this...my younger two are SO EXCITED! The Cloud like blob in the middle has their name on it...so I did not close in on that...but choosing a name out of the hat it would say, " Sally is a Rocket Reader!" We found an extra flat person from DD's Flat Stanley class...so we dressed it up and added that to his rocket...I guess the Principessa didn't want one for hers.

Tomorrow, we are going to the ZOO!!!! This will be DD's FIRST TIME...can you believe it...WOW...cannot believe it has been over 7 years since we have gone...
It will also be a VERY LONG day for me...as I work at 5 am...then we will be going straight to the zoo...then later that night I will have a homeschool meeting...Ugh...tired just thinking about it!

This should be 3 gifts Funny...but it has been a HARD day...so I am changing this to Three HARD EUCHARISTEOS
1} Loving on a precious Momma who just lost a son...seeing her broke my heart and no words were good enough...Thankful today that God is on His throne and in control when all seems out of control.
2} Loving a prodigal...seeing his brokenness and knowing he needs to open up, but he won't...and he will continue down the hard path for a while longer...Thankful today that God loves this one more than we do and that when we make our beds in hell...HE IS THERE
3} Thankful for music that helps us express our hurts (and JOYS) when we have no words, are spiritually dry or things are just too hard...I am loving this song right now...
And I am caught up too!

Sufficiency of Scripture
So Jesus, perceiving that they were intending to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone.
Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened. But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
The next day the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone. There came other small boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks. So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus. When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here?”
Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.” Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” So they said to Him, “What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’” Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”
